FAMILY HISTORY RESEARCH
ANZESTRY has the expertise and resources to trace your family history. Research is undertaken in a variety of sources appropriate to each family. In a stage of research, ANZESTRY would aim to uncover details of your ancestors, their occupations, the places where they lived and the background history to their lives. In order to commence research on your behalf it is important that all the family history information that is presently known is provided as a starting point. ANZESTRY can then begin research from the last definite piece of information and not duplicate what may already be known from family sources. It is impossible to predict in advance exactly what information may be found as of course much depends on the individual family circumstances, their locality and movements, and the extent of pertinent surviving records. ANZESTRY is equipped to undertake research in all record repositories in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom through a network of local research experts. Whilst the focus of the research undertaken by ANZESTRY is that of the British origins of Australian and New Zealand families, research can also be undertaken in many other European countries as long as the records have survived and are accessible. |
A stage of research takes, on average, about ten weeks to complete. Having undertaken research into a particular family, ANZESTRY will provide a comprehensive research report detailing your family history, incorporating all of the records found in the course of the work. It may be the case that further work could be carried out and suggestions for this will be included. The initial report is provided in an attractive presentation folder to which further material can be added if further research is required. To commission research, you can download a copy of our Research Information Form where you can provide details of the currently known facts about the family. |

SURNAME HISTORY RESEARCH
Every individual is identified by his or her own personal name. Your surname is an integral part of your personality and provides a link to your own heritage. Hereditary surnames evolved in the thirteenth century to distinguish individuals with the same forenames – these have been carried through history to the present. ANZESTRY can identify the origin and meaning of your own surname and this is attractively presented as an A4 sized document ideal for framing for display in your home. It also makes an ideal present for family and friends for those special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries. Please download an order form to
commission research into your family name.
